Marvel quietly moving away from multiverse saga for something different

Big changes ahead

The power dynamic of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to change forever, according to Kevin Feige.

In under a week mutants will finally enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the release of Deadpool And Wolverine, which fans are expecting to be a non-stop cameo show of all the characters Disney can now use since buying Fox.

The past few Marvel films have teased the never-ending potential of the multiverse, though Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has promised the next few films will tease the arrival of the mutants.

So far we’ve seen quite a few mutants already, like Namor, Ms Marvel who’s apparently a mutant in this continuity, and even Beast at the end of The Marvels.

Speaking at a press conference Feige said the aftermath of Deadpool And Wolverine will lead to the inclusion of “characters from the X-Men world, the mutants — we haven't had access to before,"

He went on to tease that “every [movie] post-Deadpool & Wolverine will be the Mutant era coming into the MCU."

How the mutants will actually be implemented into the MCU is anyone’s guess, though if the last few films are anything to go on it’ll likely be a case of familiar faces popping up, famous name drops, and probably some post credits scenes alluding to X-Men or other heroes/villains.

That’s just one of many exciting developments in the MCU, with another being Jonathan Majors’ replacement as Kang The Conqueror, who’s still presumably the “big bad” of the current MCU phase, for the time being anyway.

Don’t miss the full-on debut of the mutants in Deadpool And Wolverine though, as it’s likely going to tease some interesting developments for the franchise, possibly even an Avengers Vs X-Men movie…
