The modding community has once again wowed gamers, this time having created an incredible mod that a range of fans can appreciate.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is still hugely popular with the GTA fandom despite its age.

Although it’s extremely dated when compared with the upcoming GTA VI, there’s a lot to love about the classic Rockstar Games experience without the assistance of mods.

That being said, there are several brilliant mods available that help reinvigorate the game.

Feels only right we share The Last of Us season two trailer here

One such mod, which has been shared on X by Synth Potato, is proof of this.

By combining GTA: San Andreas with the gritty horrors of The Last of Us, a unique survival experience has been born.

It’s truly mindblowing how much time, effort, and passion the modding community pours into these older game.

Synth Potato shares our sentiment, having posted, “I can’t believe that people are still working on mods for this game after 20 years, insane community.”

What makes this mod even more impressive is the fact that it looks and plays better than modern day survival experiences.

“Still looks and plays better than The Day Before,” remarked @TheLeonidaMan.

As we can all painfully recall, The Day Before ended up being nothing short of a disaster having launched with a plethora of issues.

It was so bad that a volunteer developer that worked on the game came forward and said that everything about the title had been a lie.

So, yes, it’s incredible that a 20 plus year old modded game is better than that.

“That's amazing! The GTA: San Andreas community is still active, and the mods look incredible!” @jnno__1 commented.

User @samdh90 added, “San Andreas was such a goat for a long time. Not surprised the community is still active TBH.”

Modding is a gift. Despite all the questionable mods that are made, this GTA x TLOU inspired creation is proof that it’s worth wading through the sludge to find gold.
