With the next Fable title officially on the way and slated for a 2025 launch, it is no wonder that fans of the long-running series are quite excited.

However, there is now another reason to be hyped after the creator of the Fable series has shared a bit more information about his newly announced game, Masters of Albion.

Check out the official Xbox trailer for the upcoming Fable below!

As we already know, the Fable series, which kicked off in 2004, is set in the fictional nation of Albion which is heavily based on Medieval Britain.

However, according to creator Peter Molyneux, Masters of Albion will be set in the exact same world which is perhaps unsurprising considering the IP’s name.

This news comes after Masters of Albion was announced at Gamescom 2024 earlier this week.

Despite the brand new IP not being affiliated with Microsoft or the Fable franchise, it seems as though fans will still be making their way to Albion.

Described as an “open-world God game”, Masters of Albion cannot be copyrighted for taking place in Fable’s famous nation according to Molyneux.

“[It’s] like saying if you set a game in America, you can’t set any other game in America,” he explained in an interview with IGN.

“So Albion can’t be copyrighted. It’s the name for England and Wales and that’s how we get away with it.”

“Fable was set in Albion, Masters of Albion is set in Albion,” he summarised.

Molyneux went on to explain that although his new game will expand on the Albion universe, it will not be linked to the events of Fable.

“It’s not actually Fable 5 or anything like that,” he said.

“But if you’ve played Fable, then definitely Masters of Albion will be familiar to you. One of the things that we have got and we absolutely wanted a nail was the humour.

“I think in the Fable games, it’s not so much about telling jokes, it’s more about giving you, the player, the ability to do ridiculous and funny things.

And we’ve got that in Masters of Albion in absolute spades. I think we’re really nailing that.”
