Elden Ring player kills Pope Turtle, immediately regrets it after seeing what happens

A foul crime has been committed, one which should never be forgotten

Okay, as much as I need to inform you about this grave news, I need to take a moment to gather myself and my emotions – it’s just too much. You see, some cruel, cruel gamer decided to kill Pope Turtle in Elden Ring.

Naturally, many of you will be wondering why someone made this terrible decision, especially towards an NPC who’s like a giant shelled dog. It breaks your heart, as it should, but wait until you read all the details, only then will you know true pain. The Redditor’s reason for slaying this gentle giant in cold blood? They were “morbidly curiosity”.

Let's cut through that grief with some Elden Ring epic wins and fails

The OP admits that they actioned their crimes during a new game plus, which, while not relieving them of the guilt they feel, does help soften the blow a little; they played their first game with purity, just as Miriel (that’s Mr. Pope Turtle to you heathens) wanted. That’s where the small comforts end, though, for Miriel doesn’t move, and so they just stand there and take the prolonged onslaught of death, while imploring the player to reconsider their actions.

“After the first swings, he claims this effort is futile and that you can't kill him (he is really hard to kill with his boss-like HP bar),” explains the ultimate betrayer, the slayer of Pope Turtle. “He will then affirm to you after reaching halfway through his HP that you are seemingly determined, but he is kind hearted and says he would never hold this against you if you stopped.”

“Once you reach the final blow, his cries of pain haunt my very morality. It's a sad scream, much higher pitched than you'd expect from one of his size.” I won’t give further details, the pain is just too great. However, let me assure you that all that effort isn’t worth the agony it causes all who learn of this senseless crime – some turtle meat and bell bearing is all you’ll gain from murdering such a peaceful creature.

Now, while I don’t condone any form of abuse towards anyone, not even those who harm saintly turtles in great games like Elden Ring, I was glad to see that fellow players didn’t hold back with their emotions when addressing these heinous crimes. One user said, “I'll pray for you, but I doubt you'll escape Hell for this”, while another simply posted what we’re all thinking, “The LOATHSOME DUNGEATER”.

Thank goodness we can soothe this gaping wound by knowing that the Elden Ring 2 teaser is so good it sent fans wild with excitement. Small victories in the face of abject pain and all that jazz, folks.
