We are creeping ever closer to the release of the second Doctor Strange film, Marvel's Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, and speculation surrounding the movie grows more curious by the day. One main area of conjecture surrounds which Marvel characters are going to show up as cameos, as Marvel has such a wide selection to choose from.

A new trailer dropped for the Doctor Strange sequel during the Super Bowl on February 13, and since then fans have been analysing the contents of it frame by frame. Looking at locations new and old, as well as pulling characters from the comic books, theorists feel they have the whole film figured out. Despite this, the actors behind characters assumed to be making appearances have been coming out to deny their parts in the movie.

Those who missed out on the latest trailer can check it out below.

The first was Ryan Reynolds - famous for playing the merc with a mouth, Deadpool - who teased the comeback of his character on Instagram. However, when asked specifically about Doctor Strange he outright denied it. "I could be an unreliable narrator, but I promise you, I'm not in the movie." Now Sir Patrick Stewart has entered the fray to also deny his involvement.

Famous in the Marvel universe for playing Charles Xavier of the X-Men, aka Professor X, Sir Patrick's iconic voice can be heard in the Super Bowl trailer. Fans spotted the Illuminati from the comic books, of which Xavier is a frequent member. However, in an interview with comicbook, Stewart is claiming it's all movie magic, and that he didn't lend his voice to the movie.

"You know, people have been imitating my voice ever since I came on the stage 60 years ago," he said. "So, I can't be held responsible for that."

Is a double cross, or a deep fake? Maybe, but it's more likely Sir Patrick is telling us all a wee porky pie. We know an exceptionally powerful mutant when we hear one - and it's not like both Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire weren't denying their involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home right up until the movie was out. You've got form, Marvel, and we're not falling for it.
