Original 'Modern Warfare 2' Cover Soldier Has Been Unmasked

I don't know what I expected.

Once upon a time, there was a game named Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II. This was widely regarded to be one of the best games in Call Of Duty history, so much so that the publisher Activision chose to remaster it in 2020 and then remake it for a 2022 release. What can we say, it's iconic. Have you ever wondered, though, who the soldier is on the cover of the game?

Let's run through the likely suspects before we give the game away. According to CNBC, the top ten most successful actors in that year were Denzel Washington, Shia LaBeouf, Brad Pitt, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks, Robert Downey Jr., George Clooney, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp and Sandra Bullock. Obviously, I know the answer already, but I can't match any of those contenders to the person on the cover. They're masked, but it just doesn't resemble any of the aforementioned.

Check out the trailer for the new Modern Warfare II here!

It turns out that it wasn't an actor, or a model, or a soldier at all. The person on the cover of Modern Warfare II is in fact Mark Rubin, who used to be an executive producer on the shooter series. I don't know why you wouldn't believe us, but if you did need proof, here's Rubin's Tweet:

He added that he's also the soldier on the cover of Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare which makes sense once you've put two and two together. So, there we have it, a nice little tidbit of gaming history trivia for your Wednesday.
