We’re really in the throws of spooky season now, huh? Earlier this month, we saw the release of Halloween Ends (which, admittedly, hasn’t gone too well with fans and critics), and recently, screenings of Terrifier 2 apparently saw audiences throw up and pass out after witnessing the horrors on screen. Can’t say that’s how I’d fancy spending an afternoon, but there you go.
In case you were unaware, a brand new Saw movie is also in the works, although you’ll have to wait until next Halloween for that one - it’s currently slated for a 27 October 2023 release. If the concept wasn’t exciting enough for you already, as reported by Bloody Disgusting, it’s now been confirmed that Tobin Bell, the original actor for John “Jigsaw” Kramer, will be reprising his role and making a return in the 10th instalment in the series.
Before we get into it, take a look at the trailer for The Midnight Club - a new Netflix horror series which has set a world record for jump scares.
Bell starred as Jigsaw in the first eight Saw movies, but was totally absent in the 2021 instalment, Spiral. It may have only been a short break, but it sounds like the producers, Mark Burg and Oren Koules, are very excited to have him back.

“What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film,” the pair said (via Bloody Disgusting).
“The return of Bell to the franchise furthers Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures’ goal of a film that captures everything Saw fans love about the franchise, while also keeping them guessing with all-new traps and a new mystery to solve,” a press release notes.
Bloody Disgusting reports that the movie is set to go into production later this month.
