You didn’t think the Star Wars news was finished, did you? When Star Wars Celebration is on, the news just keeps on coming.

If you cast your mind back to last year, a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was officially announced to be in the works at Aspyr. It appears that the remake is set to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive but a close relative of KOTOR is soon set to make its way to the Nintendo Switch.

We’re talking about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords. Check out Nintendo’s trailer for the new port below!

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords is making its way to Nintendo Switch on 8 June 2022. Yes, that’s less than two weeks away - bonus! The port will reportedly benefit from HD cinematics, textures, UI, and overall resolution.

According to Nintendo, the game will also include a free post-launch DLC called Sith Lords Restored Content. This will include new crew interactions and dialogue, a new revamped ending, and a bonus mission starring HK-47. I don’t know about you but I’m sold.

Originally released for the Xbox back in 2004, KOTOR II is set five years after the first game and follows The Exile, a former Jedi Knight, who seeks to reunite the Jedi to fight against the Sith Lords.

The senior director of business development at Aspyr Michael Blair said, "We're really grateful that we get to work on such amazing and beloved titles for fans of the original game and new ones exploring these experiences for the first time. With the resolution updates, performance optimisations, and The Sith Lords Restored Content DLC coming post-launch, we hope gamers will see this becoming one of the ideal platforms to dive into the galaxy showcased in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords." Pre-orders are now live on this absolute classic.
