Stardew Valley Players Given Free Halloween Treat, Don't Miss Out

Spooky treats for a spooky time of year

Stardew Valley has been one of the most remarkably consistent games, arguably ever, and developer ConcernedApe and the good people at The Secret Police Ltd continue to support players in their endeavours.

The last official update we got was the 1.6 version, which released all the way back in March 2024 for the PC and November for consoles. Some thought that may be the last one we get, with ConcernedApe heavily focused on his new project, Haunted Chocolatier, but there has now been confirmation that 1.7 will arrive at some point.

It's been ages though, so while we wait for official updates, we've always got the game's remarkable community to turn to for mods, and oh boy do they continue to deliver. With Halloween on the way, there's one that stands out above the crowd as a must download if you're a fan of the spooky season.

Halloween Recipes Galore

Abrah's Halloween Recipes adds five new recipes to the game that all take inspiration from the scariest time of the year. The include Bat Pasta, Moonlight Eclair, Pumpkin Spice Latte, Dusk Cake and Slime Latte.

Excitingly, you won't have to do anything to unlock them, and they should be immediately available once you have the mod downloaded, so you'll just need to get the ingredients together to craft them.

The ingredients you will need to get eating and drinking this Halloween are as follows:

  • Bat Pasta - Squid Ink ×1 Wheat Flour ×1 Bat Wing ×1 Egg ×1
  • Moonlight Eclair - Milk ×1 Sugar ×1 Chocolate Cake ×1 Blueberry ×1
  • Pumpkin Spice Latte - Pumpkin ×1 Sugar ×1 Coffee ×1
  • Dusk Cake - Egg ×1 Sugar ×1 Flour ×1 Starfruit ×1
  • Slime Latte - Slime ×1 Wheat Flour ×1 Sugar ×1

They also come with custom designs that slot seamlessly into the wider art of Stardew Valley more generally.

If you're looking to deepen your Halloween experience even more, then Em's Spooky Halloween Pets is a great choice for updating several of the in-game models for animals into a fitting style.

That includes six new designs for cats including, Skeleton, Scarecrow, Bones, Spirit, Ghost, Pumpkin, four for dogs in Mummy, Bones, Spirit, Lantern, and even three turtles, which come in Bones, Pirate and Pumpkin varieties.

Both are available to download entirely for free via Nexus mods, so make sure you do ahead of the weekend so everything's in place before the trick-or-treaters come knocking.
