New Unreal Engine 5 horror is so realistic it's hard to look at

Upcoming Unreal Engine 5 horror ILL is so realistic, it's hard to look at.

The so-called spooky season is well and truly over for the year, and has been for quite some time. That doesn’t mean the horror-fuelled fun has to end though. If you’re looking for another terrifying game to play, I may have just the thing. May I introduce you to ILL.

ILL has been in the works for quite some time. Developed and set to be published by Team Clout inc, ILL is an upcoming Unreal Engine 5 horror which looks positively chilling. Move aside Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol. ILL is the latest entry designed to test your nerves and resolve. For now, the synopsis remains pretty vague. “Step into the sinister settlement, face a growing horror, and uncover the unsettling truth behind its descent into madness,” it reads. “Are you ready to confront your deepest fears?” Um, I’m not so sure.

Take a look at the game in action below.

The first-person gameplay released to date show’s the game’s main character moving through a series of dilapidated environments armed with a revolver and radio. Unsurprisingly, they’re not alone. ILL features some grotesque creatures, with one monstrosity reminding me very much of The Last of Us Part II’s Rat King, although with more intestine-like tentacle looking bits … I’m not exactly sure what’s going on there.

Being made in Unreal Engine 5, ILL boasts some incredible graphics - based on what we’ve seen so far anyway. The game remains in development, with hopeful players able to follow its progress on Patreon. By the looks of things, Team Clout has recently signed with an unannounced ‘partner’. This has slowed things down somewhat whilst paperwork is dealt with but it should hopefully mean more support and visibility for ILL going forwards.

As such, there’s no release date for ILL just yet. In all honesty, its release could be years away. If this game does ever see the light of day though, I have a feeling it’s going to be something special.
