One of the most chill games of 2024 is available to download and keep forever, right now.
There are tons of free indie games on the PC platform Steam, for better or worse. Sadly, a lot of the time, we’ll probably stumble across something deemed as “shovel wear” more often than not, but sometimes, we might stumble across the next indie darling.
Thankfully, for the most part in recent years, the gap between top-end indie games and AAA games is becoming increasingly smaller.
To the extent that some indie games might have that big-budget shine, such as ARC Raiders, one of the best games of 2025.

That being said, as great as it can be for an indie game to have AAA shine, sometimes it might lose that charming vibe that gives you the feeling of it being created by a small team.
Perhaps once such a game is 2024’s, Botany Manor.
Botany Manor Is One of Our Favourite Indie Games of 2024
“Welcome to Botany Manor, a stately home in 19th-century England. You play as the inhabitant Arabella Greene, a retired botanist. Explore your house and gardens, filled with research, to figure out the ideal habitat of forgotten flora. Grow each plant to discover the mysterious qualities they hold…,” reads the synopsis of the game.

“Botany Manor is everything you want from a plant-based puzzle game. In fact, I’d argue it exceeds expectations,” said GAMINGbible alumni, Emma, in her 2024 PC review. “No, I can’t easily return to redo the puzzles, at least not if I want a fresh challenge, but simply to bask in the glow of the sun-lit grounds? Oh, I’ll return to Botany Manor in a heartbeat.”

You can claim Botany Manor for free right now courtesy of the Epic Games Store. All you need to do is have an Epic Games account and play the game via its dedicated launcher.
Botany Manor is only free until 12 February 2026, at which point it will return to its £19.79 RRP. You might also be interested to know that Botany Manor is currently included with an Xbox Game Pass subscription.
