A New Pokémon Just Got Accidentally Revealed And Fans Are In Love With It

The latest Pokémon Trading Card Game art has revealed what appears to be a new Pokémon, and fans are going wild over it.

In case you’d forgotten, a new generation of Pokémon is soon to be upon us. Undoubtedly the biggest announcement of this year’s Pokémon Day was the reveal of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet - the latest main series games, along with the adorable starters, Sprigatito, Quaxly, and Fuecoco (AKA, the best one).

Since that initial trailer though, we’ve not heard anything else about the games, or more importantly, the Pokémon we’ll be meeting in the still-unnamed region. However, as reported by Dexerto, some of the art from the latest Trading Card Game set has been revealed, and one card in particular has caught fans’ eyes, as they’ve spotted what looks like a new Pokémon.

ICYMI... check out the announcement trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet right here.

The new fella in question was spied in one of the new character cards, featuring Spiritomb. Down the left side of the card, one of the ghostly Pokémon’s wisps can be seen with what at first glance appears to be a set of googly eyes, creating what fans have dubbed Spiritiny - a new, unevolved form of Spiritomb.

Unfortunately though, this certainly isn’t an actual new Pokémon - the “eyes” in question are just a couple of Dark Energy icons which happen to have landed in the perfect spot to generate a whole new Fakémon. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from falling in love with Spiritiny, with some even creating fan art for the little guy.

“Spiritiny, the Wisp Pokémon. When a [Spiritomb’s] Odd Keystone begins to crack a bit too much, Spiritiny are able to escape and go out in search of their own Odd Keystone,” wrote @TJGalamba, creating their own Pokédex entry. “These helpful ghost/fairy-type Pokémon are kind enough to lead lost [travellers] through swamps and dark forests.”

While Spiritiny sadly isn’t a real thing, there’s nothing to stop an unevolved form of Spiritomb being made a reality in the future - you can’t deny that it’s a cool idea. Hey, maybe the devs will even take inspiration from this accidental situation. I’d be here for it, anyway.
