Pokémon fans unite over new evolutions for classic 'Mon

We’d love to see this!

Pokémon fans are united over a new evolution for a true classic species, but will it ever happen?

Ever since the Pokémon series made its debut in the 90s on the original Nintendo Game Boy, it has garnered fans from all parts of the world, and if anything, it only seems to be getting more popular with each passing day.

There’s every chance that Pokémon could become even more popular in 2025 when Pokémon Legends: Z-A releases on both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2.

Whether it’s the video games, collecting cards or an animated TV series, fans can never get enough Pokémon goodness, with each fan having their favourite species.

If you asked each fan which is their favourite Pokémon, there’s a good chance that you’ll get a different answer each time, especially when there are so many species and evolutions to choose from.

“For future generations, what Pokémon evolutions would you want?” asked Redditor Sea-Lime276, and a certain dragon-type topped the list.

“Druddigon needs something. Anything. Please,” pleaded Green-Trifle-951, emphasising the fact that Druddigon still has no evolution, despite being introduced with Generation V in 2010.

“Druddigon is known to be vicious and cunning. It warms its body by taking in sunlight with its wings; if its body temperature lowers, it becomes immobile,” reads its description on Bulbapedia.

“It has savage physical strength; it nimbly chases prey around its den, using its outstretched claws to catch them, or charging into them face-first.”

“A Rock/Dragon gargoyle-themed evolution,” suggested Freedom1234526.

“Druddidigon,” replied Endless-Sorcerer. “Dudunsparce 2.0, if you will.”

Druddigon already looks badass, and his evolution could be truly epic, especially its shiny version.

Will Druddigon ever get its evolution, though? We certainly hope so, because it most certainly deserves it.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A will be released on 2 October 2025.
