Netflix's brand-new festive offering has been about as warmly received as a poo under the Christmas tree, if the wave of negative reviews are anything to go by.

We all know that Christmas is the perfect time to kick back and enjoy a cosy winter film (like The Lord Of The Rings), and Netflix has plenty of great ones to choose from. Unfortunately, one of its latest movies just isn't resonating with audiences. Like, at all.

I Believe In Santa was added to the streaming service recently, and while the title doesn't exactly promise and Oscar-worthy time, you could be forgiven for assuming it's a bit of harmless fun. Not so, according to user reviews that have blasted the picture as "unwatchable", "cringe", and "cheap". That's not very Christmassy.

If you were wondering, the movie stars Christina Moore and John Ducey as couple Tom and Lisa. The two have been dating for a while, but things take a turn when Lisa discovers her adult boyfriend still believes in Santa Claus. I'd side with Lisa tbh.

Here's the official synopsis: "After five happy months dating Tom, Lisa is horrified to learn that he's obsessed with her least favourite holiday. As the big day approaches, Lisa begins to learn the true meaning of love and the holiday season."

The film currently boasts a horrific 16 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, with all agreeing this is bilge that should be avoided at all costs.

"Watched it all, and regret it. I do not recommend watching this movie... I would argue that almost any other Christmas movie would be better than this one," the most recent one-star review reads.

Another adds: "This movie was borderline disturbing. The acting was horrific, especially Tom's character. Not worth the time."

Most other reviews shared a similar sentiment, with several remarking they couldn't actually make it through the whole thing. Basically, if you're looking for something Christmassy to watch, maybe stick with The Muppet Christmas Carol.
