Michael J. Fox is a legend. The retired actor, best known for his role as Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy, played a huge role in many of our childhoods - there’s as much love for him now as ever, and so it’s unsurprising that fans got so emotional over his reunion with co-star Christopher Lloyd (AKA Doc Brown) at New York Comic Con.
The wholesome video of the pair getting up on the stage and greeting each other with a hug has been going viral, and it’s not hard to see why. Numerous fans have taken to Twitter to share their love.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Fox will be receiving an honorary Oscar at the Governor’s Awards, which will take place on 19 November. Specifically, he’ll be given the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, and there’s no doubt that he’s deserving. He founded the non-profit organisation Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research back in 2000 - the organisation aims to find a cure for Parkinson’s disease, and develop therapies for those living with it. He himself was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991.
“Fox’s tireless advocacy of research on Parkinson’s disease alongside his boundless optimism exemplifies the impact of one person in changing the future for millions,” Academy president David Rubin said in June.
