It’s been a while since we heard from Insomniac Games, but I’d imagine that’s because they’re beavering away cooking up magic. This year will see the release of the highly-anticipated Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 - something we’re all incredibly excited for - and beyond that lies the release of Marvel’s Wolverine.

We know very little about the latter project except that it’s likely to release no earlier than 2024. Marvel’s Wolverine will supposedly have a “mature tone,” plus we know that it’ll be a PlayStation 5 exclusive but that is becoming increasingly more common now that we’re roughly halfway through the PS5’s lifecycle. Insiders also claim that the game will be R-rated and will be set prior to Wolverine joining the X-Men. To add to the excitement, fans now think they’ve uncovered who will be playing the main man himself.

Take a look at the teaser trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine below.

As pointed out by TheGamesSpoof, it could be Steve Blum playing the titular role. This is all a theory for now, but it is backed up with possible evidence. If you don’t know, Blum has voiced the character of Wolverine in several animated series including Marvel Anime: Wolverine, Marvel Anime: X-Men, Wolverine and the X-Men, The Super Hero Squad Show, The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, and Ultimate Spider-Man - and that’s not even the whole lot.

The site pointed out that a few weeks ago, Blum posted a video to Instagram in which he was wearing a video game mocap suit. In the video, Blum confirmed that he’d taken part in the development of a video game, although said that he couldn’t report on any specifics as he’d signed a non-disclosure agreement. Hm, it’s not much to go on admittedly so I’d take this with a generous pinch of salt.

Blum has worked on countless games over the years. In recent years, he’s appeared in or provided voices for Marvel’s Midnight Suns, The Callisto Protocol, Neon White, Marvel’s Avengers, The Last of Us Part II, Valorant and Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order so in truth, Blum could be working on anything. We’ll have to wait and see who Insomniac has recruited for the project.
