Well, that was a busy ol’ weekend.
Summer Game Fest is almost at a close, but it’s brought us tons of exciting game announcements, reveals, and updates.
It all began with the titular showcase held last Friday, hosted by Geoff Keighley.

The headline reveal of the event was arguably that of Resident Evil 9, now officially titled Resident Evil: Requiem.
The reveal of Marvel’s Deadpool VR also went down incredibly well though, or at least it did for a time.
The idea of Marvel’s Deadpool left the audience cheering and whooping, with audible exclamations of “NO WAY?!” heard on the event’s livestream.
That was until fans heard ‘VR’ on the end; that quickly dulled the hype.

Listen, there’s nothing wrong with VR but fair to say, it still remains somewhat of a niche corner of gaming that a lot of gamers don’t have access to.
Even still, those with a Meta Quest 3 or 3S should be excited as Marvel’s Deadpool VR looks fantastic.
It’ll actually introduce us to a new Deadpool, one who’s received the creator of the character’s seal of approval.
Ryan Reynolds has stepped aside for this one, with How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris occupying the role.

Reacting to this, Deadpool creator Robert Liefeld took to Twitter to write, “Neil Patrick Harris is an inspired choice for Deadpool! This is GREAT!”
Marvel’s Deadpool VR is a joint venture between Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios in collaboration with Marvel Games - and it’s set to launch later this year.
“After being pulled through a portal to Mojoworld, Deadpool sees a chance to get rich—like really rich,” reads the synopsis.
“He signs a sketchy contract without reading any of the fine print and then it’s off to visit a bunch of locations from across the Marvel universe, battling against iconic (and not-so-iconic) villains.”

I wonder who those iconic villains may be. Could we get some cameos from other famous faces?
We’ll be keeping an eye out for the game’s release date.
