Marvel's Wolverine Release Window Leaks, Mark Your Calendars

We can't wait to sink our claws in!

Finally, we’ve had a new Marvel’s Wolverine tease, and you will be pleased to know that it could be released sooner than we think.

You’d be absolutely forgiven if Marvel’s Wolverine had slipped off your radar, after all, it was first announced in 2021, and since that time, updates on the title have been pretty much nonexistent (at least officially).

Developed by the same studio that brought us both Marvel’s Spider-Man games, as well as the Ratchet and Clank series, Insomniac Games is one of Sony’s leading development studios. So it's understandable that its new releases garner more hype than most.

“In the vein of our Spider-Man games, our goal here is to not only respect the DNA of what makes the character so popular, but also look for opportunities to make it feel fresh and truly reflect the Insomniac spirit,” said Ryan Schneider in 2021, the co-studio head at Insomniac Games.

“Even though Marvel’s Wolverine is very early in development, from what I’ve seen of its emotional narrative and cutting-edge gameplay (see what I did there?), the team is already creating something truly special.”

It’s truly baffling to think that it was over four years ago when we saw the cinematic trailer featuring Logan sitting at a bar during a PlayStation Showcase digital event. What’s more, we never even got a glimpse of the popular mutant's face.

Thankfully, as reported by Comicbook.com, it appears the wait could soon be over, if a recent leak is believed. Not only is it rumoured that we’ll get a new trailer at The Game Awards this year, but MP1st claims that Marvel’s Wolverine will launch sometime in 2026.

While no exact release date was provided for Marvel’s Wolverine, if previous habits are anything to go by, it might arrive towards the end of 2026, in my opinion.

Between the original release of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 in 2018, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, all of those games were released from September to November. So, it would not surprise me if Marvel’s Wolverine lands during that period, too.

I would also guess that, like any game launching in 2026, Sony Interactive Entertainment and Insomniac Games will want to stay as far away from GTA VI as possible, which currently has a release date of May 26, 2026.

Obviously, these are all unconfirmed rumours, so they should be taken with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but we’ll let you know once we learn more.

Marvel’s Wolverine will launch on the PlayStation 5.
