Rapper Machine Gun Kelly Will Apparently Be Playable In 'WWE 2K22’

Apparently, Machine Gun Kelly is set to be a playable character in WWE 2K22's post-launch DLC, which is baffling.

Where do we even begin here? I’m not trying to say that all of 2K’s WWE games are bad, but let’s face it, they have not been doing too well lately. Not only did WWE 2K21 just fail to happen at all, 2K20 was an absolute dumpster fire, which I suppose is fitting really given the year it represented. More recently, in the build up to 2K22, fans have been spotting glitches in the game’s trailers, which really doesn’t bode well.

So, the scene is set - we have a very rocky history of recent releases, and the foreboding signs of history repeating itself going forward. What’s the best course of action here for ensuring a high-quality, successful game is released in the end? Machine Gun Kelly. Just, throw him in there.

ICYMI... check out the teaser trailer for WWE 2K22 below.

I’m as confused as you are. As reported by VGC, not only has it been revealed that the rapper will be the game’s executive soundtrack producer, but he’ll also be added to the game itself as a playable character, arriving in style as part of a post-launch DLC pack. Because reasons.

So yeah, players will be able to look forward (?) to either beating everyone up as Machine Gun Kelly, or suplexing him yourself, the choice is yours. Needless to say he’s going to look a little bit unusual alongside the roster of actual, real wrestlers, but it’s a talking point, right? At this point, it’s not known if the DLC will be free or not, but I think we can all make a pretty solid guess there, can’t we?

As the game’s soundtrack producer, 2K has added that Kelly has apparently “hand-picked” the soundtrack himself. There’s been a few songs confirmed already, which include tracks from Bring Me The Horizon, The Weeknd, and as you’d expect, Machine Gun Kelly.

The game is set to release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Series X/S on 11 March, so there’s not long to go now (for better or worse).
