The Lord Of The Rings TV Show Release Date Moved Weeks Before Release

Amazon have changed The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings of Power's release date just weeks before the premiere.

There are a couple of lengthy waits on the horizon for Lord Of The Rings fans. Just last month, it was announced that The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum has been delayed yet again, although developers claim this is only by “a few months”. Private Division and Weta Workshop’s LOTR project is several years away, but The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power was the light in the darkness. The series was due to premiere on 2 September, but that too has now been changed - not delayed though. Get excited folks, because it’s actually coming sooner.

Check out the epic trailer for The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power below.

Okay, so it’s not that much sooner but we’ll take whatever good news we can get. The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power will now debut one day earlier on 1 September, which is a Thursday if you’re interested.

The first two episodes will debut at 9pm ET, which annoyingly is 2am over here in the UK. After the premiere, the remaining episodes will then drop weekly on Fridays at 00am ET, so UK folks should be able to watch episode three onwards from 5am on a Friday.

Recently, The Rings Of Power’s executive producer JA Bayona revealed that the series’ golden rule was to reflect Tolkien’s “optimism and love,” noting that “This is a man who went through some of the darkest things in human history [WWI] and he didn't come out of that and write a despairing, awful story.” The series is in good hands. We’re on the final countdown, my friends.
