An upcoming RPG for 2026 is impressing millions of gamers with new footage and details that make it seem like it will not be one to miss.

Crimson Desert is an open world RPG that focuses on world-building, epic fantasy tropes, and superb combat.

Just one look at the landscapes will have many would-be players captivated, and the stunning detail in the animations, particularly within fight scenes, will have jaws dropping.

A glorious world like this is reminiscent of The Legend of Zelda, and the sweeping vistas feel just as grand here as in Breath of the Wild.

Of course, the biggest comparison the game draws is with The Witcher franchise, as it’s all swords, medieval styling, and fantasy creatures set on chomping you down.

Fans of The Witcher 3 will likely get hundreds of hours out of Crimson Desert, seeking out small details and finding characters to fall in love with.

If that doesn’t put this game on your radar, then you should be checking out some of the clips doing the rounds on Twitter.

Gameplay footage shows the hero of the game riding a bear into combat in a moment that looks both silly and awesome at the same time.

And it’s not all fantasy creatures like dragons that feature, and can be mounted to traverse the world, but there’s a leaning of technology here, too.

In a later clip, our hero can be seen in a Mech, scaling walls, and unleashing hell with robotic arms that feel inspired by Steampunk aesthetics.

It’s wild to see, and hopefully, it will feel thrilling to play. Only time will tell on this one, but advance previews are certainly getting folks excited by what’s in store.

The game is set to release next year on 19 March, so once Christmas is out of the way, we won’t have long to wait.
