'Jurassic World: Dominion' Runtime Confirms The Longest Jurassic Park Movie Yet

The Jurassic World franchise has always been full of very big dinosaurs. Lots of them, in fact. So, it’s quite fitting that the movies tend to be equally chunky - a dino-sized film for your dino-sized saurs, if you will. Or something.

The upcoming sixth instalment in the franchise, Jurassic World: Dominion, is apparently set to be the longest one yet. As reported by Collider, Colin Trevorrow’s latest is going to run for a very respectable 2 hours 26 minutes, so make sure you’re going into it with a lot of popcorn. Maybe even some of those slightly soggy cinema nachos while you’re at it.

For comparison’s sake, and as compiled by GamesRadar+, the previous largest Jurassic World movies were The Lost World and Fallen Kingdom, both of which clocked in at 2 hours and nine minutes. The original Jurassic Park movie was 2 hours and seven minutes, and followed by Jurassic World at 2 hours and four minutes, and finally (looking really rather tiny) is Jurassic Park 3, at 1 hour 32 minutes. 

It’s not really too surprising that Dominion is going to be extra thicc - basically every cast member from the series’ history is set to make an appearance, with Bryce Dallas Howard, Isabella Sermon and Chris Pratt all making their return from Fallen Kingdom, and Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum are all reprising their roles from the original trilogy. 

“Dominion takes place four years after Isla Nublar has been destroyed,” reads the synopsis on the official website. “Dinosaurs now live - and hunt - alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”

Jurassic World: Dominion is set to release in cinemas on 10 June, so there’s not too long to wait now to get your fix of dinosaur action. Again, don’t forget that extra large popcorn - you're gonna need it.
