It feels like an adventure that's been 65 million years in the making, and with Saber Interactive announcing Jurassic Park: Survival all the way back in December 2023, a lack of updates had many fearing it's gone extinct.
Much like James Bond games, Jurassic Park adventures are a dime a dozen. Unfortunately, just like 007 titles, there are plenty of duds out there. These days, the Jurassic name is largely associated with Jurassic World Evolution park builder games. Those of you who are old enough might remember climbing into the back of a Jeep Wrangler for the beloved Jurassic Park arcade game, but in terms of modern releases, the franchise has stalled a bit.
Then again, it could always be worse. The industry seems intent on doing anything other than giving us another Dino Crisis, even announcing The Lost Wilds, which looks like Dino Crisis meets Jurassic Park.
Thankfully, you might not have to wait that long, with a 'dino-mite' title supposedly on the way in the form of Jurassic Park: Survival.

Things have gone mysteriously quiet on the Jurassic Park: Survival front, which is a shame because its initial trailer generated plenty of buzz. Capturing the spirit of Steven Spielberg's 1993 movie, it was pitched as a true sequel to the OG as we return to Isla Nublar the day after that fateful outbreak. We'll sing the praises of The Lost World: Jurassic Park all day long, but like Star Wars continues to fill in the gaps by visiting fan-favourite periods of the franchise, we're surprised we've not had more stories focusing on the original era of the Jurassicverse.
So, when Stuntman: Hollywood gave us a whistlestop tour of Universal franchises like Miami Vice, Knight Rider, and Fast & Furious at the June Sony State of Play, fans were rightly wondering why Jurassic Park was MIA.
Alongside Back to the Future (which got its own time to shine), Jurassic Park is one of Universal's biggest IPs.
Game File asked what's going on, with Saber Interactive CEO Matt Karch confirming we will be able to drive around in a Jeep Wrangler...just not yet. Even though Stunman: Hollywood will feature Jurassic Park, they were banned from featuring the IP. Jurassic fans have noticed an unprecedented period of silence, with all social media accounts tied to the film series going quiet in mid-March. Universal didn't respond to the outlet's request for comment, so it's unclear whether it's a rights issue, copyright problem, or something else entirely.

The knock-on effect has also impacted Frontier Development's Jurassic World Evolution 3, which also went mysteriously quiet following its October 2025 release. It sounds like the park is back open for business, with Karch concluding: "Happy to say JP Survival is very much under active development and is looking very solid."
Both Survival and Stuntman are said to be "looking good," but aside from that, he wasn't willing to give anything else on where Jurassic Park: Survival is up to.
In the aftermath of Jurassic World Rebirth being another chart-topping hit, the Jurassic name is anything but extinct. A Rebirth sequel is currently in development, and while we know Saber likely has a lot on its plate, launching around its release would be a clever way to cash in on the hype.
This isn't quite the surprise drop of Jurassic Park: Survival you might be hoping for, but unlike Wayne Knight's Dennis Nedry, at least we know it's not dead.
