PlayStation’s 2 June State of Play revealed some absolute bangers coming soon to the PlayStation 5 and some other consoles.
From updates on titles we already knew about to surprises we didn’t see coming, there was at least something of interest for all types of gamers. Below are the eight games we think shone the brightest at the latest showcase.
This is one of those aforementioned titles we didn’t see coming by the way… a sequel to Until Dawn!
At first glance, it doesn’t look like it’ll be connected to the first game, but we’ll have to play it ourselves to find out for sure. That won’t be a hard sell, especially with famous faces like Neil Newbon from Baldur’s Gate 3 and Dacre Montgomery from Stranger Things joining the cast.
We’ve known about ILL for quite a while now but it was nice to get another look, arguably the best we’ve seen so far.

This upcoming horror game is downright gruesome and could easily give the likes of Resident Evil and Silent Hill a run for their money.
Dave The Diver is a severely underrated title that deserved more love than it got. It had its fans for sure but it slipped under so many gamers’ radars so it’s nice to see a prequel on the way.
The new game is all about Bancho and how he became the master chef we know him as in the future.
Now this was a lovely surprise. What we initially assumed was another generic racing game instantly grabbed our attention when it revealed that some iconic film cars would make up its roster.
KITT from Knight Rider and the Delorean from Back to the Future have stolen the show for now but we’re excited to see what other famous film cars we’ll be able to take for a spin.
Lara Croft is back, baby! This is another game we’ve known about for a while but after seeing some proper gameplay, our excitement levels have peaked.
This has all the makings of a banger reboot that gets exactly what we loved about the OG Tomb Raider games, albeit with a few modern flourishes.
He’s as beautiful as the day we lost him… Rayman officially returns in a remake of Rayman Legends, which first launched in 2013.
Why Ubisoft decided to give Legends a touch-up is unknown but hey, we’ll take what we can get as long as it leads to more Rayman.
If ILL is shaping up to be a successor/rival to Resident Evil The Lost Wild is exactly that but for Dino Crisis.

Dinosaurs are so rarely depicted as the horrifying creatures they are, so The Lost Wild already has a lot of potential. It’s also presumably launching before Jurassic Park: Survival…
Last but certainly not least, God of War Laufey, the biggest game that was shown off at PlayStation’s June State of Play.
Unfortunately, the internet hasn’t been too kind to this game in the hours following its reveal, with some “fans” of the series taking offence to Kratos not being the lead protagonist this time around.
We’re excited, however. Faye was the heart of the rebooted God of War games and there’s still so much we don’t know about her, so we’re looking forward to learning more about her character and why Kratos rated her so highly as a warrior. Faye went toe-to-toe with Thor and won once after all…
