I can’t believe that we’re still talking about Morbius two months after its release but alas, here we are. If you didn’t know, Morbius was a certified flop and currently has just a 17 percent approval rating on review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes which is … poor.

The reason that Morbius hasn’t been swept under a rug and forgotten about is because it’s become somewhat of a meme phenomenon. Even if you haven’t seen the film, you’ve probably heard the phrase “It’s Morbin time” being thrown about. No, that isn’t actually a line from the film. It’s just a joke, but it’s a joke that Jared Leto has now responded to.

If you're looking for a better way to spend your time than by watching Morbius, you can now play Mario Kart in real life. Take a look below.

Jared Leto, who portrays Morbius, recently posted a video to Twitter captioned, “What time is it?” In the clip, Leto can be seen reading a script and voice asks him, “What are you reading?” The camera then zooms in on the script’s title which reads ‘Morbius 2: It’s Morbin Time.’ There you go folks, Jared Leto is aware of the internet’s silly little memes.

If you’re hoping that this means Morbius 2 is actually in development (although I’m not sure who would hope for such a thing), I’m sorry to disappoint. This appears to just be a meme but it follows a string of weird Morbius incidents.

A couple of weeks ago, a Twitch channel appeared called Morbius247 which began streaming the film for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (hence the very apt name). The channel was taken down for breaking Twitch’s terms but not before it amassed thousands of views. This week, it was announced that Morbius is returning to over 1,000 cinemas for a second cinematic run. Why? I really don’t know, but here we find ourselves amidst a Morbius resurgence. It’s a frightening time for one and all.
