Jack Black delights young fan by singing School Of Rock song

A wholesome video of Jack Black interacting with a young fan has been going viral, for good reason.

Jack Black once again captured the hearts of literally everyone a few days ago when the first trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie dropped. The film, which takes dear ol’ Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt, for reasons) on an adventure across the Mushroom Kingdom, stars Black as the one and only Bowser, and I’ve genuinely not seen a single person suggest that this was a bad casting choice. Heck, he and Bowser even sort of look alike, oddly.

As a result, the world has entered a bit of a Jack Black renaissance, so it’s no wonder that one wholesome clip of him interacting with a young School of Rock fan has been going viral. The youngster tells Black his favourite song from the movie ('Legend of the Rent', of course), prompting the star to burst into song, all while holding the kid’s hand. D’aww.

Take a look at Jack Black’s adorable impromptu performance right here.

Back to the Mario movie, and it’s safe to say that Black’s performance has struck a chord with the internet. It’s debatable whether some might actually be loving his interpretation of the character a little bit too much, as one Twitter user tactfully summed up, saying: “The amount of people sexually attracted to Bowser is alarming but not surprising.” Yes, people are thirsty for Jack Black’s Bowser. If you find this shocking, chances are you don’t spend that much time online.

When The Super Mario Bros. Movie comes out, it’s going to face some stiff competition - at the time of writing, Sonic the Hedgehog still stands as the highest-grossing video game movie of all time. Perhaps everyone’s favourite plumber will have what it takes to knock it off the top spot? We’ll just have to wait and see when it releases on 7 April 2023.
