Invincible video game officially in development, creator confirms

As well as "apparel, collectibles, tabletop games and more."

A video game adaptation of Invincible, the superhero series from Skybound Entertainment, is in the works. The announcement came from the entertainment company along with a commitment to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original comics next year in a number of exciting initiatives.

It's important that we don't get too carried away, though. Skybound Games primarily works with games that are smaller in scale than our standard superhero outing, like The Walking Dead Game, Before Your Eyes, The Long Dark and Slime Rancher. However, that might be the ticket to give the biting ideas behind Invincible a chance to shine outside of the action.

Take a look at the trailer for Invincible below!

"Invincible is something that Cory, Ryan and I have devoted a large portion of our lives to. Now that it's being discovered by an infinitely larger audience it's really great to see it live on in so many different forms," said Robert Kirkman, the co-creator of Invincible, in the press release (cheers, Comic Book). "It's so gratifying to know that people will be falling in love with Invincible for years to come."

Obviously, a lot of the plans are hush-hush, but it is known that fans are getting a Invincible #1 facsimile edition reprint, the Invincible Undeluxe #1 one-shot, the Invincible Compendium Vol.1 HC, Invincible Vol.1 (New Edition), Invincible Universe Compendium in 2023. As well as the video game adaptation, there's "apparel, collectibles, tabletop games and more" to look forward to.

"2023 is going to be the biggest year for Invincible yet," continued co-creator Cory Walker. "I'd say Invincible fans should get ready but there's really nothing you can do to prepare for all that awesome that's coming."
