Horror Game Lets You Play As A Serial Killer Who Has No Bones

Video games allow you to role-play as almost anything you want to be. If you want to play as an assassin exploring historic time periods, you have Assassin’s Creed. If you want to be a super speedy blue hedgehog collecting rings, you’ve got Sonic. If you want to become a gelatinous serial killer humping your way across the floor, you can be The Man Man.

The Man Man is a short free-to-play browser game developed by corpsepile. Like all great ideas it started out as a joke that went too far. You play as the titular Man Man - named as he is a man wearing the skin of another man - a guy who won’t let his lack of bones stop his hunt for blood. As per the website “He doesn't have any bones but don't let that fool you in to thinking that he's any less proficient at doing murders.”

If you want to see a dad jump out of his skin while playing horror games in VR, look no further than the video below.

This is not the first time that there has been a game with a boneless protagonist. 2008’s QWOP by Bennett Foddy - who went on the create Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy the game of our nightmares - is a free-to-play running simulator where you control each limb with a different button.

In 2010, a group of students created the freeware title Octodad where you also control each limb separately. The game gained traction and won the student award in the Independent Games Festival, before going on to get a full release in 2014 under the title Octodad: Dadliest Catch.

The Man Man, as the title suggests, isn’t as refined as Octodad but it also only takes about five minutes to complete. That is of course if you can catch Crawling Carl, who is as slippery and he is low to the floor.
