If you’re someone who’s been counting down to the release of Hogwarts Legacy, you don’t have much longer to go. Tomorrow, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC players who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition will gain early access to the game with Standard Edition folk joining in on the fun on Friday.
By the looks of it, Hogwarts Legacy is just as magical as many hoped it would be. The game has landed a very respectable score of 86 (PS5) on Metacritic. PlayStation Lifestyle wrote that “Hogwarts Legacy is the game Harry Potter fans have dreamt of since the first book was released,” while IGN added that “its open world adventure captures all the excitement and wonder of the Wizarding World.” It looks like it’ll take you 70 hours to Platinum the game but players are being urged to change one console setting to help them along.

As reported by GamesRadar, Hogwarts Legacy players are urging others to change their console’s location to get an early start on the game. As mentioned, those who have pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition will gain early access on 7 February which, at the time of writing, is tomorrow here in the UK. That date has already begun though in New Zealand. I bet you’re starting to see where this is going now.

If you change your console’s location to New Zealand, you should gain early access to Hogwarts Legacy straight away. You're only gaining a few hours head start but hey, some people have been waiting for this game their entire lives.
Unfortunately, this won’t work for PC players as the global release time is slightly later on this platform. I say slightly later, it’s 21 hours after early access kicks off on consoles which is a hefty gap. PC players can gain access on 7 February at 9PM GMT / 1PM ET / 10AM PT.
