The official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter account has dropped a surprise update fans in celebration of Back To Hogwarts day.

It's weird to think the massive Harry Potter RPG only launched back in February, but we all know Hogwarts Legacy are already hungry for more. In fact, many feel the open-world game feels largely empty, while others have accused developer Avalanche Software of outright lying about the game's features.

Take a look at Hogwarts Legacy in action below!

Potter fans everywhere will know that yesterday (1 September) was Back To Hogwarts Day. Oh this day fans like to celebrate with official and unofficial events, and there was hope that Warner Bros. and Avalanche Software would get in on the fun with some kind of update for Hogwarts Legacy.

While what we got isn't exactly what we'd hoped for, it's certainly something. Over on Twitter (which I won't be calling X unless there's a gun to my head), the Hogwarts Legacy team teased a brand-new behind-the-scenes look at the game.

"Designed to be the ultimate love letter to fans worldwide, #HogwartsLegacy welcomes you home," the post reads. "Take a peek behind the scenes at what went into the creation of the game later this year."

It remains to be seen how substantial this behind-the-scenes feature will be, or if it will include any sneaky updates on the future of Hogwarts Legacy. We already know a sequel is in development, but fans are clamouring for a more immediate expansion.

Given the huge amounts of money Hogwarts Legacy has made in less than a year, we'd be shocked if we never got DLC of any kind, but it could well be that Warner Bros. would rather put everything into making a bigger, better sequel. Watch this space, and we'll find out for sure later this year.
