Hogwarts Legacy players admit game ultimately feels 'empty' with missing RPG features

Hogwarts Legacy players admit that the action RPG of the Wizarding World is beginning to feel empty.

Hogwarts Legacy is one of the biggest games of the year and will likely be amongst the names mentioned for Game of the Year awards.

Set during the late 1890s, before the likes of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts, you play as a Hogwarts student that mysteriously starts your academic life in the fifth year, raising more than a few eyebrows.

All in all, this action RPG developed by Avalanche Software allows players to live the Hogwarts life like never before. Whether it's being a budding student, forming bonds (or enemies) with NPC students and teachers, or just exploring the world to your heart's content. Hogwarts Legacy is certainly a game packed with content.

Still, with Hogwarts Legacy being the first game in the series, there is plenty of room to improve should the likelihood of sequels arrive. However, it’s been about five months since its release, and a lot of players have experienced everything that the game has to offer and some are growing concerned with no sign of story DLC being on the way.

As reported by GGRecon, fans on Reddit have been discussing their concerns and are wondering what’s next for the digital Wizarding World. “Took a break during the first run and probably won’t replay it. Anyone else?” asked Redditor Sundance_Red.

“I was excited about this game and played like 20 hours off the bat, but after the amazement of seeing Hogwarts realised I started to get bored,” they continued. “The world is criminally empty and what you say and do matters minimally. Outside of quests, your friendships are nonexistent, and dialogue options hardly matter.”

“Yeah it was a bit disappointing how our decisions didn’t affect the storyline besides the initial house sorting,” replied JollyTomatillo2740. “Mass Effect is truly special in that way. IMO the best part of this game is the combat. The puzzles are fun too.”

“I took a break and never picked it up again. I was enthralled in the beginning, but can’t seem to find the motivation to finish,” added makeyurself, and reading through the Reddit thread, that seems to be a very common take on Hogwarts Legacy.

Thankfully, despite some gamers seemingly discovering all there is to discover in Hogwarts Legacy, one player at least recently discovered a seriously creepy event, and another a hidden feature after playing for 400 hours.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. It was supposed to have been released on Nintendo Switch by now, but after suffering multiplayer delays, patient fans will have to wait a little longer to explore Hogwarts on the go.
