In February, Hogwarts Legacy was finally released into the world and it was soon immediately clear that the game was jam packed with secrets to be discovered by players. Here we are, almost two months on, and discoveries are still being made. Hogwarts Legacy’s open-world is the gift that just keeps on giving.

Well, unless you’re talking about the Merlin Trials in which case fans are in agreement that the vast amount of effort required to complete them all is not worth the reward. In fact, one player has worked out exactly how much time it takes to best Merlin’s silly games. It’s no surprise really that one developer claimed that it could take you upwards of 120 hours to see all that Hogwarts Legacy has to offer. Just today, fans discovered a rare Unforgivable Curse related scene - and now, one player has found a handy, albeit horrifying, trick to create unlimited gold.

Someone has already modded PS1 Hagrid into the game. Take a look below.

If you’re many, many hours deep into Hogwarts Legacy, you’ve probably got more cash than you’ll need to obtain all of the game’s purchasable items but gold can be hard to come by in the early stages of the game. I definitely tired of professors asking me to buy items I couldn’t yet afford but as reported by The Loadout, one player has discovered a handy gold-mining trick.

It’s all to do with the game’s chickens. Reddit user BigPlayG757 found that you can use the Transfiguration spell to turn chickens into pouches of gold. I’ll admit, this I did not know. It does mean you need to go around and doom a bunch of chickens to an inanimate fate. I suppose you may also cause a mass egg shortage.

It’s worth noting that chickens may not always turn into gold as the spell can cause beings to turn into a number of different objects but it’s worth a go. User intrin6 commented, “This will make you big BU-BU-BUCKS,” while twitch-switch added, “Investors don’t want wizards to know this one trick that will make them MILLIONS.” Top-tier humour.
