Hogwarts Legacy’s summer update is, unfortunately, rather disappointing.

This is the first major content update since Hogwarts Legacy first launched in February of last year and outside of the ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ quest, there isn’t a lot present to draw players back in.

A Photo Mode is nice but it shouldn’t be the tentpole of the update, and the cosmetics are hardly game-changing.

Of course, if you originally played Hogwarts Legacy on PlayStation, the ‘Haunted Hogsmeade Shop’ quest won’t be a draw at all.

During a recent Legacy Live event, developers did reveal one Easter egg players are yet to spot in addition to teasing a small new feature you can seek out following the update.

Still, it’s not quite the expansion many of us were hoping for. Even pulling back our expectations, it would’ve been nice to see the Summoner’s Court or Crossed Wands activities expanded.

Many fans’ disappointment has been turned around though by the announcement that yet another Harry Potter themed game is set to arrive very soon.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will launch on 3 September.

Take a look at Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions in action below.

Following an initial reveal in 2023, Quidditch Champions finally received a full trailer and release date at this past weekend’s Summer Game Fest.

Created with a Fortnite-esque aesthetic, the game will, you guessed it, allow players to compete in Quidditch tournaments either solo or with friends.

Developed by Unbroken Studios, this is a standalone experience so no, you don’t need Hogwarts Legacy to play, but you do need an online connection.

Developers have confirmed that “there are no plans to include microtransactions in the game at this time,” which is music to all of our ears.

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Epic.

As a nice bonus, it’ll launch day one on PlayStation Plus - and across all platforms, Hogwarts Legacy players will be rewarded with an in-game Legacy Pack which features two skins, a wand style, emblem, and celebration.
