Hogwarts Legacy DLC 'tease' leaves fans divided

Hogwarts Legacy DLC 'tease' leaves fans divided

Could fans finally be treated to Hogwarts Legacy DLC?

Despite the success of Hogwarts Legacy earlier in the year, there has been no sign as to whether the game inspired by the Wizarding World will benefit from DLC or even a sequel to expand upon its story.

When Hogwarts Legacy was initially released in February 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S it not only outsold the lifetime sales of the mighty Elden Ring in just five weeks, but it was also looking to be a surefire contender for Game of the Year. Then the rest of 2023 happened.

When the nominations were recently announced for The Game Awards taking place on 7 December, Hogwarts Legacy fans were not only outraged that the game never received a single nomination but it was also considered to be an injustice to not even be nominated for its sound design. To be fair, if nothing else, Hogwarts Legacy is not only a stunning game but it sounds wonderful too.

However, there may be some good news on the horizon, that’s at least according to a recent job listing at Hogwarts Legacy developer, Avalanche Software. Shared in a Reddit post by user ItsYaGirlConfusion, the job listing may suggest that potential new content is coming to Hogwarts Legacy in one form or another.

Given the commercial success of Hogwarts Legacy, it would make sense for publisher Warner Bros. Games to build upon its foundation, right? Especially when you consider that Hogwarts Legacy has made more money than some of the Harry Potter movies.

It’s worth keeping in mind that the actual job listing requirements do not mention Hogwarts Legacy specifically, but, interestingly, the game is used to entice potential employees. The job listing in question is for a senior producer to join the Hogwarts Legacy team. The listing mentions several requirements of the role such as working with the team creating project schedules and providing updates to the stakeholders.

“I hope they listen to the fans. I’d rather wait longer and have a game that’s much more developed than a rushed one with a thin storyline with little replay value,” replied nursewithnolife to the post. “This does NOT confirm that we’re getting new gameplay. They’re a brand new studio that acquired a multi-billion dollar IP,” clarified WhiskeyCloudsBackup.

Whether we get DLC for the original game or a sequel, remains to be seen. As they say, watch this space. Naturally, as soon as GAMINGbible hears of any updates related to the future of Hogwarts Legacy, we’ll be here to update you right away.
