Hogwarts Legacy broke records when it was released back in February of last year but it is now over one year on and there has still not been confirmation of a sequel.

However, this is seemingly about to change courtesy of a recent job listing discovered by developers Avalanche Software itself.

Check out the recent summer update for Hogwarts Legacy below!

Spotted by Game Rant, the job listing calls for a Producer on an undisclosed project.

The role calls for “experience developing Open World RPG” or “action/magical combat games” and invites candidates to “join the team behind the blockbuster open world action RPG Hogwarts Legacy as we create what’s next!”

With previous rumours that the Hogwarts Legacy sequel would be a live-service title, fans rallied in their thousands to sign a petition to stop this from happening.

Now it seems as though the same fans are divided on the future for the Harry Potter inspired series.

“I'll be downvoted to oblivion as this seems not to be the overall opinion of this sub, but I would love a total reboot of the series,” one user shared over on r/HarryPotterGame following the recent job listing discovery.

“I don't feel anything playing these characters even though it's in a world I love, and the best moments for me were the Easter eggs and references to the main books.

I would love to play as Harry again in this current gen, sneaking around and living all those moments again.”

The Reddit thread saw fans join together to share what they would like to see from a potential sequel and despite Hogwarts Legacy being the best-selling video game of 2023 in the U.S., there are still a few issues.

“Each house should have its own storyline,” another player suggested.

“Playing as another house after completing yours should be a whole new experience rather than doing 99% of the same thing.”

Another said: “Please, dear god….. let us actually have missions in Hogwarts or places we actually care about.

I do not care to travel all around this empty map to a town/cave/camp that is like every other one on the map.”

Now let us just hope we get confirmation of Hogwarts Legacy 2 soon.
