It’s now (checks calendar) just over four months to go until the release of Hogwarts Legacy. Gamescom brought us a brand new trailer, showcasing the mysterious dark arts and Unforgivable Curses - it seems that players will have a big decision to make when it comes to choosing whether or not to delve into the dark side.

Pre-orders for the game also went live last week, sending fans into a frenzy in an attempt to grab the incredibly pricy Collector’s Edition, which includes a special ancient book replica, and a wand that floats above it (definitely with the power of magic, and not magnets). Now though, the biggest Harry Potter fans can bag themselves some extra bonuses totally free.

Last night, over on the official Hogwarts Legacy Twitter page, it was confirmed that anyone who links their Harry Potter Fan Club account with their WB Games account can grab some exclusive in-game items, as well as some further personalisation for their adventure. Players will be able to carry over their Hogwarts house and wand, and pick up a Beaked Skull Mask and House Fan-atic School Robe to dress up in. It sounds like linking your Fan Club account is the only way to get those latter two items, so if you’re a completionist, don’t miss out.
Otherwise, anyone can choose their Hogwarts house at the beginning of the game anyway, so this isn’t an exclusive feature for Fan Club members. Choose wisely - if you’re playing on PS5, your DualSense controller will match your house colours, so make sure to pick one you like.
