The hype around GTA VI may have been dampened slightly by yet another delay, but there is still a ton of interest in the franchise in general, with GTA Online continuing at just as rapid a pace as ever before.

The next update for that is set to launch tomorrow, and it's a big one, as A Safehouse in the Hills finally allows us to buy some prime luxury real estate, the likes of which we haven't seen to date.

Being spoken about colloquially as the Mansion Update, as you might expect, it allows us to buy a very big house in the Vinewood Hills, the most exclusive part of the city and a lovely place to take up residence.

Said mansions come with a bunch of cool features, including trophy cabinets, kennels, a private salon and a very spacious and well lit garage, as well as several smaller details.

Outside of that, there is another potentially interesting facet to this update, namely that it could be being used as a test bed for the next game, at least if revelations from dataminers are to be believed.

Mansion Update Could be Testbed for GTA 6?

Over on Reddit, a user shared a post by GTA Assassin on Twitter/X, in which dataminers uncovered a ton of activities that players were supposed to be able to engage in whilst at home, including washing their hands and face, various forms of exercise and even, erm, pooping.

The kicker comes with speculation that some of those removed animations could be reappearing in this next update, which in turn has led fans to speculate that all will feature in GTA VI, with Online being used to test them.

"Finally being able to poop means all my dreams have come true. The sims was the only scratch to that itch before," one comment under the Reddit post reads.

Without wishing to put a dampener on the speculation party, the likelihood of Online being used as a testbed for major features in the base GTA VI experience is relatively low.

Not only will the games be structured differently in terms of code design, the developer will be testing features all the time in builds of the upcoming game, leaving little reason for them to roll out features via GTA Online.

In any case, the next update for Online looks very cool and it gives us something to do whilst we wait for next November.
