GTA VI fans need to prepare big time if they’re going to get their hands on the elusive collector’s edition.
It feels like we’ve been saying it every day for months now, but surely not only will the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI drop soon, but hopefully, gamers will finally be able to get their physical and digital pre-orders placed.
Sure, it’s not always best to pre-order a video game nowadays, especially with a release now, fixing later attitude from some developers and publishers. However, if there’s one developer that gives us confidence with its launch quality, it’s Rockstar Games.
What’s more, while it’s unlikely that standard copies of GTA VI will sell out at launch, perhaps the same cannot be said for any potential special or collector’s edition. As for digital pre-orders, it’s always nice when a highly anticipated game is good to go at the turn of midnight.
“GTA VI Collector’s Edition – How do I actually secure one in the UK?” asked Redditor ExcitedTerror. “I’m panicking a little because I’ve never ordered a collector’s edition of any game before and genuinely have no idea what I’m doing.”

“The last CE I bought was Cyberpunk 2077. I ordered from Amazon UK, and it arrived the day before release. So that's my strategy this time,” replied MetalHealth83.
“I've always had really good experiences buying games from ShopTo, don't know if they still do, but previously they had a reputation for being efficient with new releases,” added CaptainVXR.
“I usually order my CE’s from the direct website of the developer – I would sign up for news on the Rockstar Games website and for the Take-Two Interactive website, that’s where they will be posted first, then Amazon, GameStop, etc,” suggested Particular_Stand_149.
“Buddy, the collectors' edition for Rockstar’s games usually goes live three months before release. There is still time,” said Thompsons.
Coming from someone who can be hellbent on getting a collector’s edition for games that I’m a big fan of. As soon as I know when a pre-order for a collector’s edition is going live, I have my PC and mobile phone ready to go on its dedicated store page, smashing refresh like a maniac.
While Rockstar Games hasn't announced the GTA VI Collector’s Edition, after all, official pre-orders for the standard game aren't live yet, I’d be shocked if there wasn't one. Previously, not only have GTA IV and GTA V had collector’s editions, but so too has Red Dead Redemption 2. Albeit, the latter had the game sold separately.
However, getting hold of the potential GTA VI Collector’s Edition might be easier said than done. It feels like GTA VI will be the most popular game in the series, and with its launch, the fanbase could be bigger than it’s ever been. As such, there will not only be more demand for the standard edition, but also for any special or collector’s edition.
Furthermore, we also have to compete with greedy scalpers whose sole purpose of buying a GTA VI Collector’s Edition would be to resell on third-party websites for egregious prices, preying on the desperate nature of passionate fans.
So, if Rockstar Games does announce a collector’s edition for GTA VI, then I wish the genuine fans all the luck in the world.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on 19 November 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Its PC port hasn't been announced yet.
