GTA 6 new tease accidentally leaked by Rockstar themselves

Nothing gets past the GTA fandom

I don’t want to alarm anybody but December is fast approaching.

It’s hard to believe that in just three months' time, it’ll have been one year since Grand Theft Auto VI’s reveal trailer dropped.

With that in mind, it certainly feels as if we’re about to re-enter what I’ll call The Danger Zone.

That’s the point at which it feels reasonable for Rockstar Games to drop a second tease upon us, whether that’s in the form of a gameplay trailer or via a batch of simple screenshots.

GTA VI hardly needs to build any extra hype but Rockstar will still want to continue the current momentum of hype so a tease one year after the first doesn’t feel out of the realm of possibility.

Especially if the game is indeed still due to release in Fall 2025, December would place us at around nine months or so away from launch.

Marketing has to ramp up eventually and logically, we’re reaching the point at which that will soon happen.

While we eagerly await that gameplay reveal, Rockstar Games appears to have accidentally teased GTA VI without meaning to do - and it’s via their PC launcher.

You may as well watch the original GTA VI trailer one more time.

It’s not yet confirmed that GTA VI is even coming to PC, although it surely is.

In fact, Rockstar appears to be teasing as much judging by a recent addition to GTA Online’s backend.

As reported by PC Gamer, BattlEye anti-cheat software has been introduced for GTA Online which may not feel that significant but within this, dataminers have been able to find some interesting files.

Renowned dataminer Tez2 took to Twitter to write that the update “accidentally included the metadata for RDR1 PC,” a port which has been rumoured for several months now.

An announcement is surely only a matter of time.

RockstarIntel then spotted that the update included a folder titled ‘Americas’, which sounds very GTA VI-esque.

If you didn’t know, Project Americas was the codename for GTA VI before its full reveal.

This indicates that the game is coming to PC after all, so perhaps we will hear from Rockstar Games very soon.
