Grand Theft Auto VI is finally set to be ours this year, although you can’t blame fans for being trepidatious.
After all, Rockstar Games has already delayed the highly anticipated game twice, and without a deep dive into gameplay or the opening of pre-orders, there’s no guaranteeing it won’t happen a third time.

As such, we’re in somewhat of a drought. If GTA VI is confident about its November launch date, I’d imagine marketing will ramp up in May, six months before release.

In the meantime, fans have simply taken to discussing what they’re hoping to see in the game, with one recent conversation centring around how cars should handle.
Some Want Realism, Others Say Anything Goes
It was Reddit user PrudentComedian2416 who posed the question, asking, “Car flip or hard realism?”
“Looking at how much car physics have changed over the years, do we want to keep the ‘magic wiggle’ from GTA V for pure chaos, or is it time to bring back the punishing realism of the older games where a bad crash actually mattered?”

By all accounts, it looks as if the fans want a combination of the two, and I can understand the reasoning.
“Don’t mind being able to flip the car, especially if the map is huge and you get upside down somewhere remote,” replied MoonBones4Doge.
“As long as the vehicle damage is way better than GTA V and handles more realistic, I'd be happy.”
Fellow user b000mbox argued that’s already a part of the franchise’s formula: “Don't want to be that guy, but in GTA IV, a damaged car actually had misaligned wheels, scraping the car, limiting speed, pulling you to a side etc.”

“Car flip, oil and gas spill, may catch fire if you shoot the spillage or something similar,” offered Tacol0mpe for their wishlist, whilst Juliet_Emmn argued, “Sometimes you gotta sacrifice realism to make it more fun.”
“Flipping the car when it lands on the roof, yes. Controlling the car mid-air, no,” Nicholas7907 posed, generating some heated discussion.
I’ll be honest, I’m not an avid GTA player so I don’t have much skin in the game myself, but I could see Rockstar opting for a smidge of realism, perhaps allowing for more unconventional controls in GTA VI’s inevitable multiplayer online mode.
This is all speculation though as we won’t truly know what’s in store until Rockstar lifts the lid on this game a tad more.

Considering how long ago GTA VI was revealed, we’ve actually seen very little of the title. With a Take-Two Interactive earnings call set for next month, maybe that’ll soon change.
