Arriving alongside Grand Theft Auto V back in 2013, GTA Online has become one of the most successful multiplayer games of all time which still boasts an impressive playerbase to this day.
However, with Grand Theft Auto VI expected to come alongside a new-and-improved Grand Theft Auto Online experience in May next year, fans are eager to learn what they can look forward to.
Well, according to the former editor of the French fansite Rockstar Mag, the next iteration of GTA Online is expected to be more chaotic than ever before.
That is mainly due to the belief that the Rockstar online servers will be able to host 96-player lobbies as opposed to the 32 that is currently possible in the current GTA Online.

As you can see, that is a huge leap and we can only imagine the chaos and fun that it will cause.
Of course, modders have previously made it possible for servers to host anything up to 2,000 players but this will be the first time that Rockstar has supported a larger lobby and we can assume that changes will be made to gameplay in order to cut down on griefing.
According to Fravilys, Rockstar already has a 64-player server up and running and plans to increase this to 96 before GTA VI launches in May.
They claim that this information comes from an insider who has “first-hand knowledge of the project” which is currently codenamed GTA6MP.

Not only that but Rockstar is also reportedly working on improving player experience by introducing “significantly reduced latency” as well as something called “Fluid Access”.
Fluid Access is “specifically designed to eliminate the feeling of compartmentalisation between different sessions, ensuring a multiplayer experience without interruption” which will enable the “ability to perform free-roam multiplayer activities with players from different sessions, without ever having to leave your own environment or experience loading times”.
This will hopefully reduce loading times and any lag as with 96-players in one lobby, this could be a problem.
However, it seems as though Rockstar is on the case and GTA Online fans can look forward to another decade of non-stop chaos.
