With millions of fans excited to get stuck into Grand Theft Auto VI and follow the escapades of brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia, others are even more excited for GTA VI Online.
As with Grand Theft Auto V, Grand Theft Auto VI will be released alongside an online mode and if it is anything like its predecessor, we are in for years of fun.
Although we know a few tidbits of information about GTA VI, its online component still remains something of a mystery.

However, according to a recent leak, there is plenty we can look forward to with GTA VI Online.
Shared on the GTA 6 Countdown account, as per a report by Fravilys, six interesting pieces of information give us some insight into what Rockstar’s online world may include.
Right now, GTA VI Online is supposedly codenamed ‘GTA6MP’ and lobbies will consist of 64-players rather than the previous 32. However, this could reach heights of 96 players in the future.
It is also at a “much more advanced stage of development” than the original GTA Online and new “fluid access” technology will make the experience a lot smoother, offering a “seamless experience”.

There will also be the chance to take part in activities in free mode with players from other sessions without loading screens, with the goal being to eliminate tedious menu navigation and manual invites ahead of starting any activity.
Overall, it seems as though Rockstar has been working on some of the issues that fans of GTA V Online have reported over the years.
However, none of this has been confirmed so it is worth taking with a pinch of salt.
Either way, fans were quick to share their thoughts over this new leak.

“Bro, that's too many people in one lobby. Imagine if everyone has their mic turned on? The lobbies are gonna sound like a Warzone pre-game lobby,” one user wrote.
"I was literally just complaining the other day while playing online that the yellow dot/blue dot system to enter a mission or a business is broken,” user Eivey shared.
"It’s pretty much a bare minimum format. And it causes the game to have MUCH longer loading screens. Glad to hear they are using fluid access.”
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on 26 May 2026. It's online mode remains unannounced.
