It really is a struggle to remember a game that is as highly anticipated as GTA VI seems to be, with the various delays seemingly only heightening that fever pitch to pretty ridiculous levels.
We have now explored every nook and cranny of both trailers that Rockstar has deigned to give us so far, and it's just a case of sitting tight until we get our hands on the full game, hopefully at the end of this year (all being well).
That doesn't stop the hordes of fans of the game doing their best to glean extra details about what we can expect in the meantime though, and they've come up with some pretty ingenious ways of doing so.
Now, their attention has turned to the potential of the game's map, and it looks like it's going to be comfortably the biggest, and hopefully the most detailed, GTA map we've ever seen.
GTA VI Mapping Project Shows the True Scale of the Game's Map

Over on Reddit, one user shared a post about GTA VI's map with an accompanying image, saying the following, "This is taken from the official GTA VI mapping project website, which now provides scales for the maps from GTA V, GTA IV, GTA San Andreas and GTA Vice City in comparison. It's crazy how small 2002 Vice City is in comparison to everything else, Port Gelhorn is more than half its size."
It is a fairly stunning image to look at, and one that will undoubtedly excite expectant fans who are hoping for a world of immense scale, presuming Rockstar fills it with all the little details they have become known for.
My only personal reservation about the image shared is the relative scale of the country regions when compared to Vice City itself. That's not to say that it's wrong, more that it's a lot of big open space that could take the game into Red Dead Redemption 2 territory, though that's one of my favourite games ever, so I'll allow Rockstar the wiggle room to cook.
It also puts the size of the city at around the same area as Los Santos in GTA V, which isn't a bad thing in and of itself, though it may cause consternation amongst fans who were expecting more urban space.
Whatever happens, my only real wish is that the game doesn't get delayed again and we can still play it on schedule at the end of 2026.
