One user thinks they’ve discovered a brand new area in Grand Theft Auto VI that Rockstar Games hasn’t revealed to us yet, and they’re… half right?

Leonida, Grand Theft Auto VI’s fictional setting, will definitely be the biggest map we’ve seen in a GTA game, but one little segment in the latest trailer for the game has one user theorising that there’s a massive part of the map that’s yet to be revealed.

Over on the r/GTA6 subreddit in a thread titled “The amount of traffic heading south west implies there's a big town Rockstar is hiding”, one user believes they’ve found an entirely new part of the map we’ve yet to be shown… which is, in a sense, true.

I’ll let the commenters explain it on this one.

“You mean Key West? They haven’t shown it yet but it’s essentially confirmed,” commented user Bfire8899. “The areas shown are inspired by the middle/upper keys.”

“IRL this would be Key West, which (fun fact) in 1984 had its police department declared a criminal organisation by the US government because it was so corrupt,” replied user FrozenFrost2000. “Mapping project has theorised that this is Sundown.”

Yeah, so, obviously, Leonida is meant to be a parallel for the real American state of Florida. The little part of the map that’s being shown off in that screenshot is meant to be Key West, a city in the southernmost part of Florida.

In a sense, they’re correct, because Rockstar Games hasn’t actually shown us this part of the map yet. Well, there’s a chance one of the beach screenshots we’ve seen is in Key West (or Sundown, as the fan base has taken to calling it based on leaked info), but we’ve not seen the entire area fully zoomed out.

Honestly, it’s the area of the map I’m most looking forward to visiting. A little island city, fully surrounded by water… sounds like a fun place to make your last stand during a gunfight.
