Grand Theft Auto fans are expecting at least 100 hours of content from GTA VI.
In early May 2025, Rockstar Games announced a delay for its next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, pushing it back from the late 2025 window to a more concrete May 2026.
“Vice City, USA. Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them,” reads the synopsis of GTA VI.

“But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida — forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.”
The release date delay was then followed up by a new trailer for GTA VI, sending social media into a frenzy. That trailer on YouTube currently has over 116 million views (and counting).
According to HowLongToBeat, it can take an average of 32 hours to 87 hours to finish GTA V, depending on your playstyle, or if you explore like me, that number can be easily exceeded.
That being said, fans on Reddit are expecting much of the same with the upcoming game, but perhaps, more so. “Is it realistic to expect 100+ hours for GTA VI?” asked Wallsflow.

“I don't think so, but I think the side content will be much more this time,” replied AnywhereRare5757.
“Main story, I think, will be 40 to 50 hours. But overall, content like you said will be easily for over 100 hours,” added Gerald19901.
“I can expect to play for close to, if not more than, 1000 hours,” claimed Sarujji.
“Not the main story, which I think will take around 50 hours to finish, but for 100% completion, I think it will take more than 100 hours,” suggested RustinSpencerCohlee.
