GTA VI’s map is absolutely enormous. In fact, it’s believed to be about twice the size of GTA V’s.

We’re weeks away from our first proper look at GTA VI, and the trailer Rockstar Games recently promised us honestly couldn’t come any sooner.

Take a look at this stunning remaster of GTA: Vice City.

Grand Theft Auto fans and theorists have been driving themselves wild over the past few months thinking about what the next game in the series will be like. Since it’ll be made for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and high-end PCs, it’s believed it’ll be one of the most advanced open-world games ever made, and the most expensive to date.

The main topic of discussion is the game’s map. GTA V treated us to the gorgeous Los Santos and Blaine County, a massive world players could explore as little or as much as they liked. In that world were the main story and side missions, but also random events introducing us to the weird and wonderful denizens calling the place home, as well as some strange phenomena.

Fans are expecting GTA VI to deliver even more depth to its world, and recent gameplay leaks, as well as a glimpse at the game’s full map, are definitely looking promising.

Twitter user @jasonfromgta6_2 shared a photo of the GTA V map overlaid across the GTA VI map created by fans, in an attempt to figure out just how much bigger the next game’s open world will be.

They said they accomplished the creation of this mock-up GTA VI map by observing the leaked gameplay and getting “the coordinates seen on each clip to calculate the distance between them.” It’s believed the distance between two areas, Vice City and Port Gellhorn, is “about the length of the whole map of GTA V.”

The best part is that it’s not even factoring in the North sections of the game’s map, which haven’t been revealed in any of the gameplay leaks, meaning there’ll be even more to discover when the game drops.

GTA VI’s release date is currently unknown, though it’s expected to launch sometime in 2024 or 2025.
