GTA 6 leak suggests game is coming to last platform we expected

Grand Theft Auto 6 will reportedly launch on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and one more unexpected console.

Grand Theft Auto VI will reportedly launch on the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, and one more unexpected console.

Of course, the game needs to be officially announced first, which still hasn’t happened despite all bets being on Rockstar unveiling the title this month.

Nevertheless, fans are confident we’ll finally get a proper look at GTA VI in a matter of days, and it’s a good thing too because all of the exciting leaks are just making us want the game more.

In an obvious move, the next Grand Theft Auto title will exclusively launch for new-gen platforms, the Xbox Series X/S, the PlayStation 5, and PC - though it’s currently unknown if there’ll be a PC version on day one or if it’ll come later like GTA V.

In a surprising turn of events though, another console will reportedly be receiving Rockstar’s next open-world game, and it’s just about the last one you’d expect. Turns out the unnamed successor to the Nintendo Switch will allegedly support GTA VI, though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.

This rumour came from the editor-in-chief of Universo Nintendo, a large Brazilian publication, who recently stated GTA VI will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2.

It does sort of make sense as Nintendo’s next console, currently being called the Nintendo Switch 2, will supposedly be several times more powerful, though not a direct competitor to the Xbox Series X and PS5. It’s also believed to be launching as two models, one being all-digital, and one supporting game cartridges and digital games.

Whether this means the next Switch will be powerful enough to run GTA VI is unknown, but if it’s at least equal to the Xbox Series S in terms of power, it should feasibly be strong enough.

Nintendo isn’t the only one rumoured to be getting its hands on Grand Theft Auto games either, apparently, Netflix also wants to be included in the fun with its latest game streaming service.

Grand Theft Auto VI’s release date is currently unknown, and at the time of writing it’s only confirmed to launch on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
