When it comes to Grand Theft Auto VI, I think I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say that we’ll honestly take any crumb of an update we can get our hands on. Rockstar Games continue to remain tight-lipped on the project, yet the leaks and speculation are coming thick and fast.

You’ll probably have heard by now that last year, Rockstar Games was targeted by a major cyber attack during which over an hour’s worth of GTA VI development footage was leaked online alongside source code and various screenshots. In the past couple of days, a GTA VI ‘trailer’ fooled fans after appearing on YouTube as an advert. The whole debacle though was set up by hoaxers. In more promising news, fans have created a concept map based on leaks - and it’s huge. Let’s not forget, the GTA V concept map was remarkably close to the final thing. Today though, we may finally have a real update on GTA VI’s potential release date.

Take a look at this epic mod which lets you play as The Boys’ Homelander in GTA V.

As reported by GameRant, a new job listing may offer insight into where GTA VI is at in its development cycle. Rockstar is currently hiring a voiceover director, with the job listing reading, “Rockstar is looking for an experienced Director with a track record of crafting compelling performances for theatre, TV, or film to join us in making groundbreaking video games.”

It further goes on to add that the job entails directing “VO sessions ranging from main story content to NPC’s and exertions” and “maintaining the nuance and continuity of the game’s narrative.” GameRant suggests that this could mean that GTA VI’s script is finished, but I’d maybe take things a step further.

Given how long GTA VI has been in development and based on last year’s leak, Rockstar may now be in a position to look beyond GTA VI to start prepping for their next title, whatever that may be. I know plenty of us are hoping it’s Red Dead Redemption 3. Either way, they’re cooking up something - and I can’t wait to find out what.
