As fans continue to wait for the next Grand Theft Auto game to release, many are hoping that it might include a tribute to American actor Ray Liotta, who sadly passed away at the age of 67 last year.

Liotta was arguably best known for his role as Henry Hill in Goodfellas, but he also voiced Tommy Vercetti in GTA: Vice City. To this day, Tommy is a legendary character, and Liotta’s voice is a huge part of why he’s so iconic.

While no official details about GTA VI have been revealed yet, a huge leak that surfaced online last year as the result of a network intrusion at Rockstar Games seemingly revealed both the protagonists of the title and its setting. It appears that players can get ready to return to Vice City (albeit as two new faces instead of Tommy).

Given that players will seemingly be heading back to Tommy’s home turf, many are hoping that Rockstar Games will acknowledge the actor in the game in some fashion, or at the very least make reference to the character who fans have fallen in love with over the years. Over on Reddit, fans have been discussing what tributes they’d like to see.

“Since Ray Liotta passed away, I think an ode to Tommy is practically guaranteed - I'd be so gutted if there wasn't anything,” TestTheTrilby wrote. “I’d want him to be hinted at the [start] of the game. We don’t know the name but a guy who lived in Vice City and how he came [out] on top. During the middle of the game, we straight up hear legend stories about him, Tommy being his name. Other than that, maybe a monument with Ray’s full name on it or some tourist spot using his name,” Qlienism_ added. “Maybe have murals of Tommy Vercetti sprayed in different places around the city,” gotham1999 suggested.

At the time of writing, we still have no official news on when GTA VI is going to release - hopefully it won’t be too much longer until we find out.
