Fans are once again concerned that Grand Theft Auto VI may have been delayed for a second time, following a rather subtle, very seemingly major update from Rockstar Games.
Yep. Another week, another Grand Theft Auto VI delay theory. Honestly, it’s starting to feel like fans are trying to will a delay into existence, because the fanbase’s obsession with discussing a potential second delay seems to be growing more with every passing day.
However, this time around, said suspicions do actually stem from an update Rockstar Games has made to their official website - but is it as big of a deal as the fanbase is making it out to be?
As covered in an article by Screen Rant's Nicholas Becher, Rockstar Games made a small, easy to miss change to the official Grand Theft Auto VI website over the weekend. As you can see for yourself by heading over to the GTA VI homepage, the entry page for the site has changed significantly.

This has some folks concerned because the landing page for the website now no longer displays the previously announced May 26, 2026 release date.

And that would be a huge deal. If the release date didn’t pop up after you scroll down further.
Yeah, for some reason, this actually had thousands of people thinking on Twitter that the game had genuinely been delayed for a second time over the weekend. I was getting blasted with “GTA VI Delayed!” notifications on Sunday morning and nearly choked on my morning coffee.

However, the funny thing is, I think the update to the GTA VI landing page is evidence of the opposite. In fact, I’d wager that Rockstar Games and Take-Two are gearing up to release a new trailer for the game, hence why they’ve chosen to make some changes to the official website.
Take-Two’s next earnings call is on November 6. They tend to either release positive news just before one of these calls or to release negative news just after them.
I think, in an attempt to keep the investors happy, Rockstar Games may have altered the official GTA VI website so that they can put a new trailer on it, front and centre, just before the call takes place.
But hey, that’s just a theory. Either way, I’d be keeping an eye out over the next few days for some big news– just not anything delay-related, because that probably wouldn’t be announced until after November 6.
